The first thing you can do is clean out your computer and optimize it using windows built in tools, however there are other things you need to do as well. You should also run a reputable spyware remover (and of course make sure you have a good anti-virus program too!). Also, check your PC to see if it has a lot of dust in the case. Get some canned air and blow it out! You'd be surprised at how much dust and grime can build up in there with can cause computer freezing up. You can also check the temp of your PC to see if it is overheating. Getting the dust out will help, unless of course you have a bad fan but that isn't the first thing I would check.
