The Prime Minister has accused his critics of being 'at odds with reality'- www.dailymail.co.uk 'West ignores public role in Arab world'- www.presstv.ir Press TV: Considering this huge arms exhibition now in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and the fact that David Cameron (British Prime Minister) was in the region, what connection do you see with the arms industry, if at all, to these uprisings and revolutions? Jones: I do not know that there is a direct connection in this. I mean arms have been a big part of the commerce with the Middle Eastern countries. If there is an attempt to build up a military capability of dealing with the possible outbreak of what is a mass strike phenomenon, I think it is really going down the wrong road, because I think we will see that if this attempt is made to crush this expression of people's dissatisfaction, it will lead to more trouble. I do not think that is the way to get it under control. The underlying causes are basically economic as well as political and what should be done is, for any government interested in maintaining stability, to try a dialog with this movement to try and deal with the underlying complaints that they are bringing forward in this very dramatic way.
